I was immersed in Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji's words while reading a book on His life called, Jeewant Shikshak, written by Rev. Satyarthi Ji (Shastri Ji). This hour of reading had such an impact on my mind, that I experienced a transformation of my thoughts. For a while, I felt as if my life had changed.
The very name, Jeewant Shikshak, justifies the life of Babaji, who lived his entire life with love, kindness, peace and humanity. He was a true example of a practical teacher (Guru). I would like to share some of His thoughts with you.
Babaji related all aspects of human life with spirituality in the book and that there's no issue which cannot be influenced in the positive direction by God Knowledge. Whether the issue is family related, personal or involves any other imbalance in our spiritual life. Whatever it is, as long as there is love, tolerance, humility and true understanding of God Knowledge, then life becomes much easier to live according to the Will of God. Babaji emphasized the importance of Seva, Simiran, Satsang, Nirankar and Satguru. He also gave examples of how He explained such values to His own children.
I only read about thirty-five pages of the book in one hour, but it helped me to realize how grateful we are to see such blessed children (Baba Hardev Singh Ji as our True Master) in front of us today. I realized how precious that hour was as I read those divine words. It felt as if Babaji was talking directly to me. I thought how nice it would be if I was able to read at least ten pages from various spiritual books that help pacify the mind.
When I finished reading the book, I read a line from an article of the Nirankari Journal that goes, "How hard it is to read a chapter from the Avtar Bani / Gita / Bible, etc, but how easy it is to read one hundred pages of the best selling novel." This line stuck to my mind and I asked God for more strength and determination to read spiritual books regularly. I hope that you also make this determination with me and experience how God (True Master) talks directly to you.
